How to play thrift store bingo
- Print one card per player. Every card is shuffled, so you won't all be fighting over the same rack.
- Set a timer. 40 minutes is about right for most stores.
- Photo or it didn't happen. Snap each find, then mark it off. Try-ons count double for bragging rights.
- Five in a row wins. The center square is free once you take a mirror selfie together.
- The finale: Thrift Swap. Each person buys the other one item under $15. Reveal at the car. Wearing it to dinner is optional, but strongly encouraged.
Tips for a thrift store date
- Go on a weekday evening when it's quieter and the racks have been restocked.
- Hit the weird aisles. Housewares, electronics, and the trophy shelf are where the best squares hide.
- Group of 6 or more? Split into teams and finish with a runway show. Everyone votes for the best outfit.
Questions
Does it work at Goodwill, Savers, or a consignment shop?
Yes. Any secondhand store with clothes and housewares works. Consignment shops are pricier, so lower the finale budget or skip it.
Is this good for a first date?
It's a great one. There's always something to talk about, nobody has to fill silence, and it costs almost nothing.
